Training Collars For Dogs - Humane Or Not?

!±8± Training Collars For Dogs - Humane Or Not?

Not all training collars for dogs are alike. Different models have different purposes and produce different results. The bark collar for dogs is used to stop barking while a sport dog collar is used in training dogs like Labs.

The main question that people ask is "is it humane to use a shock collar on a dog"? That can only be answered by the individual themselves, but another question may be asked to help answer that question; "is it humane to let an out-of-control dog bite a neighbors child"? Is it humane to let your dog bark all night and keep your neighbors awake?

A dog barking collar is one of the quickest and easiest way imaginable to stop a dog from barking. When a dog is contained outside, the barking problem will be worse because there is no one around at all times to discipline the dog. If you have ever gotten out of a warm bed at midnight to hush a barking dog, the bark collar has a different meaning.

Most training collars have hand-held remotes that can send an audible warning or a vibrating warning that will give the dog a chance of self-correct before receiving stimulation. This stimulation can be compared to a static electrical shock we may receive after rubbing our feet across the carpet with socks on. Knowing when and how to use the stimulation is very important for the dog owner.

Most training collars for dogs have levels of intensity. Dogs are somewhat like people in many ways and pain tolerance is one of those ways. This is where the issue of being humane comes in. If a dog can be trained using a low level of intensity it is not be humane to user a stronger level. I have watched dogs that would not even flinch at low-level stimulation and I have seen other dogs that would respond to low-level stimulation like it was really painful.

There are also various methods used to train dogs using a remote shock collar, such as, low-level stimulation just prior to a command and then releasing once the dog obeys. An example would be to press the low-level stimulation and within two seconds command the dog to sit. After the dog sits, the button is released and the dog is praised. This teaches the dog to sit quickly and on the first command. On the other hand some had rather teach the dog the sit command other ways and then just enforce the command if the dog does not sit.

I know the pros and cons of training with or without a collar having trained my dog to the Hunting Retriever Champion level. I would never attempt to train a dog without the shock collar but I also spent a lot of time reading and observing others before I got started. I would suggest that everyone purchase a book about using the training collars for dogs.

Shock Collar Benefits For Safe Training

!±8± Shock Collar Benefits For Safe Training

If you are looking at buying a shock collar to train your dog but are undecided because of what you have heard. Let me tell about this dog training collar, I personally sell and have used it with effective results. First of all this dog collar is harmless to your pet. It is no more unpleasant than you getting a shock from your own carpet. There are different levels of correction which you can administer, a light to medium shock when training. Giving this safe shock to your dog a few times is well worth him being trained quickly to discourage any bad behavior which could end up injuring your dog or even getting him killed. Many people disapprove of using a shock collar, this is fine but they haven't done the research on them to know they are perfectly safe. A dog training collar is designed to not be harmful or physically hurt your pet in any way. They are a very effective dog collar that works very quickly with immediate results in most dogs. Many of them come with remote correction levels so you can start with the lowest setting and work your way up for the results you need.

The way a shock collar works is very simple. If your pet is doing something you disapprove of, you can use the remote to give a light shock. He may not learn what is meant by this light shock until you have to give him a couple more and he will associate this unpleasant feeling with the misbehavior. You must be very consistent when using a dog training collar for effective quick results. Believe me this dog collar does work and is safe.

They are many unwanted behaviors a shock collar can be used for to train your dog. You can train them to stay within your yard, not to dig in the yard or tear up flower beds, to keep them from jumping up on people and many other unwanted behaviors you want to train him for. Using this type of dog training collar your dog will associate the bad behavior with the stimulation instead of you the owner. You can be clear across the room or in another place to correct him and they will not associate it with you.

The remote shock collar comes in several styles to help you pick the right one for your training. They come in different sizes, a few to several correction levels and a short distance to a long distance. A dog training collar can be used to safely train even the most stubborn dog. The dog collar itself contains the receiver with the prongs, and you use the remote for the administrating the stimulation. A shock collar does work very well and very quickly. It is well worth having a nice trained dog than one who is not trained. It will be the best investment for you and your dog, why not have an enjoyable life with your dog rather than always being upset with his behavior. You and your lovable pet will much happier together.
